Dreamwear Inc. is Hiring an Associate Designer Near New York, NY
You'll be working on a lot of Production and learning the basic foundations of Design whie you assist our Design Director, however, Dreamwear offers a lot of great opportunity for growth, and we want someone who can learn the basics and take on more in the near future. Our ideal candidate for an Associate will be passionate about fashion, have a keen eye for trends, and have a strong ability to multi-task. Additionally, they must be able to execute on these job responsibilities:
- Research the market and assist designer with seasonal trends, colors, prints and silhouettes to support the senior team.
- Attend and assist in design meetings, proto reviews, and line reviews.
- Assist in preparations for product presentations and market week.
- Responsible for managing execution of production packages including color and trim specifications and preparing production ready print and graphic artwork.
- Project manage production timelines, sending out artwork and color standards.
- Check sample requests, development packages, and production packages for accuracy, (including pricing), prior to sending to factories.
- Correspond with overseas factories regarding production.
- Oversee production work of assistant designers; delegate work and tasks based on priority.
- Work with senior team in choosing colors and prints for design presentations.
- Assist designers with the trim and fabric library, color pallets, and flat sketching.
- Recolor prints in multiple seasonal colorways.
- Assist Designer with strike offs and lab dips.
- Execute organized and accurate technical development packages that include construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, print, and color details.
- Attend fittings to support senior team.
- Manage day to day projects including filing and organizing.
- Assist Designer with strike offs and lab dips.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in intimate apparel.
- Fashion degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, & Microsoft Excel.
- Positive attitude and team player.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Candidate must be passionate about fashion and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
